Safety Helmets

Epsilyte’s High-Impact Technology

Our products have a density of 1 pound per cubic foot when used in building insulation. However, in safety helmets, the density of the final product is higher, around 5 pounds per cubic foot. While a lightweight helmet option is important for comfort, the property of POLYSOURCE® that protects your head is the energy absorption mechanism. When rubbery padding is compressed then bounces back, it transfers the energy through the material to your head. If impact occurs, our material is compressed and does not bounce back. The compression of the POLYSOURCE® absorbs energy into the helmet and reduces the amount of energy transmitted to your head. This is also why it is important to replace your helmet after a crash.
